RIIWHS204D - WORK SAFELY AT HEIGHTS

 

One (1) Day—8 Hours

  • 4 Hours Theory

  • 4 Hours Practical

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed for those responsible for supervising work at heights. It covers the various requirements for working at heights, identification suitable anchor or providing suitable anchors, identification of simple rescue techniques and planning for an emergency. 

Students will attain the practical application and understanding required to perform harness based work at heights, supervise other operators including those at entry-level and to participate in first response rescue and will be able to:

  • Understand and apply legislative requirements

  • Carry out hazard identification and risk control

  • Understand permit requirements and the duties and responsibilities of all personnel involved

  • Apply work positioning techniques 

  • Carry out rescue planning 

  • Initial Response to Heights Incident

  • Rescue techniques (without exposing rescuer to fall risk)  

  • Working at Heights Permit Requirements

 

Advanced Fall Arrest Techniques including:

  • Anchor Selection

  • Provision of Anchors (Drop Lines)

  • Set Up and Use of Temporary (Static) Lifelines

This course is delivered and assessed on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909 by Skylar Safety.

  • Participants must have completed a Working at Heights Course (RIIWHS204D) within the last 2 years

  • Ability to read, write and understand English

  • Present photo I.D. on arrival

  • Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation

  • Wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear 

TRAINING FACILITY

Training can be conducted at your worksite or off-site at one of our purpose-built training facilities.
