RIIWHS401D – Supervise Work in Confined Spaces

 

2 Days (16 Hours)

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is aimed at those who are required to supervise work in confined spaces. The course covers hazard identification and risk assessment and implementation of confined space emergency and rescue systems.

​

Students will attain the practical application and understanding required to supervise work in confined spaces safely in all industries.

​

  • Prepare for the task and develop safe operating procedures

  • Prepare required permits

  • Provide information, instruction, training and supervision

  • Carry out hazard identification and risk assessment and implement effective control measures

  • Determine working at heights requirements

  • Test and maintain processes and controls

  • Select appropriate emergency rescue equipment and liaise with external emergency services agencies

  • Withdraw from the confined space and facilitate return to service activities

PROVIDER OF TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT

This course is delivered and assessed on behalf of Skylar Safety.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

  • Hold units of competency RIIWHS202D Confined Space Entry and RIIWHS204D Work Safely at Heights, issued within the last 2 years, or equivalent

  • Ability to read, write and understand English

  • Present photo I.D. on arrival

  • Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation

  • Wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear

Students can pay for the course by card over the phone or in person.

TRAINING FACILITY

Training can be conducted at your work site or off-site at one of our purpose built training facilities.

 

DELIVERY METHOD

The theory component of this training is delivered face-to-face in a classroom and the practical side is done in our facility.
