COURSE DESCRIPTION

This training re-enforced participant’s skills and knowledge required to enter and work in confined spaces without the need to do the full course. This course is designed for participants who have previously done Confined Space Entry Training (within 3 years)

The aim of this course is to identify knowledge and/ or skills gap and do the training based on those gaps. assessment will be performed to the full requirement of the relevant units to be issued.

Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and Industry sectors. Relevant information must be sourced prior to application of the unit.

 

COURSE CONTENT

  • Regulations and legislation

  • Australian Standards

  • Risk assessment and hazard elimination

  • Equipment selection and use

  • Identifying areas that constitute confined spaces

  • complying with site and equipment safety requirements

  • complying with the entry and exit procedures, risks and regulations

  • types of air contaminants and toxic gases

  • identifying the limitations of breathing apparatus

  • identifying equipment types, characteristics, technical capabilities and limitations

  • complying with site isolation and site control responsibilities and authorities

  • locations of safety data sheets (SDS) information and application

  • using confined space and Industry terminology

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

  • Have completed Confined Space Entry Course to RIIWHS202D or equivalent in the last 3 years 

  • Ability to read, write and understand English

  • Present photo I.D. on arrival

  • Complete a ‘Fitness to Complete Training’ form. The student is required to declare any medical issue that may exclude them from full participation

  • Wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear
